I actually listened to the audiobook for this one, and absolutely loved it! The narration was pretty good, and I finished the book way faster than I would have if I read it traditionally, (which is always a plus).

This book is very entertaining and fast paced, and the main character is so awesome! The only problem I had with it, was the familiarity it had to other YA books.

Crystal Storm
Author: Morgan Rhodes
Rating: 4.5/5 stars

This was my most anticipated read of 2016, and it was fantastic! In this fifth installment of the series, you really see all the characters fully flesh out and develop. I highly recommend this series to all, especially if you’re into the SLOWEST burning romance ever.

The only problems I had with this book was the fact that some of the events that were thrown into it seemed unnecessary and irrelevant. If you read the book, you might know what I mean…but other than that, it was soooo good.

On the Fence
Author: Kasie West
Rating: 4/5 stars

Kasie West is notorious for writing the most adorable contemporary books ever, and of course she hasn’t failed with this one. The plot itself is something that you’re bound to enjoy, a girl raised by boys her whole life, starting to experience things she never had interests in before.

Yes, the romance is a key factor in the book, but what really kept me reading was our main characters relationship with her brothers. Their characters were so entertaining and lovable, which tremendously enhanced the reading experience.

Frostblood
Author: Elly Blake
Rating: 4/5 stars

This one is pretty difficult for me to rate. While I absolutely loved the first half of this book, the second half fell a bit flat for me. I honestly don’t know what happened. I devoured the first half in literally one sitting, but it took me a couple of days to actually finish the book once I reached the halfway point.

I think this had to do with the fact that it seemed very mainstream after a while. Usually I don’t have the biggest problem when books are like that, but for some reason, this one hit me the most. It reminded me very strongly of Red Queen and Heir of Fire? Almost to the point where they seemed incomparable.

Don’t get me wrong, this book is still VERY different from other YA books, but it was an eye opener for me especially, to get me to read more diverse books.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Let me know the books you read in January!
