Hello everyone! Today I will be discussing my MOST anticipated releases of the new year, which is undoubtedly one of my favorite things to discuss! 😉

These will be listed in chronological order, starting with a book that has already been released…

The Cruel Prince
Author: Holly Black
Release Date: January 2, 2018

At this point, who hasn’t heard of this book? This is one of those books that literally EVERYONE in the book community is talking about, and I honestly cannot wait to get my hands on it! (hurry up amazon!) From just reading the synopsis, and from what I’ve heard, this book follows our main character Jude whose family was taken away from her at a young age. Her parents were murdered and her two sisters were to live in the High Court of Faerie. I believe she goes to the faerie court herself, wanting to be like the Fae especially since she is human? I don’t want to research further into that because just the word faerie and courts and romance instantly got me intrigued by this book! Plus this will be my first Holly Black book! Also, to those who have already read this…let me know if you’re supposed to read The Darkest Part of the Forest before this one?
Everless
Author: Sara Holland
Release Date: January 2, 2018

Another highly anticipated release for this month…Everless. I actually bought this book a couple days ago when I saw it in Indigo and freaked out, because I thought it was released later in the month. I don’t know too much about this book, (other than it has a stunning cover) but I believe it follows a Kingdom that is run by time? Like the people who are higher up in social status can live longer, due to time being the currency. WHICH IS SUPER COOL AND UNIQUE. I’m really hoping to read this one in January.

Reign the Earth
Author: A.C. Gaughen
Release Date: January 30, 2018

GUYS. This book is giving me serious Rebel of the Sands and The Wrath and the Dawn vibes. I mean, it has a desert and lately I’ve just been obsessed with that setting so this is instantly a buy for me. This book follows Shalia, daughter of the desert, who gets married to the King of Bonelands to ensure that her people are at peace. She soon learns that her husbands motives are to get rid of Elemental magic, such as fire, air, water and earth, which causes sparks of rebellion and war. ALSO just to add some more crazy drama into the mix, Shalia starts having feeling for her husbands brother. I’m just super excited for this book, I feel like it’s going to be such a fun ride and January 30th couldn’t come sooner.

Immortal Reign
Author: Morgan Rhodes
Release Date: February 6, 2018

I’m just going to say this outright, this is my most anticipated release of 2018. I don’t think you guys understand the HEARTBREAK I went through after the ending of the 5th book, and then to top it off, the original release date for this book was pushed further back into the new year. Let’s just say I waited a long time for this one. This is one of my favorite fantasy series of all time. The thing about this series, is that its not hard to read (if that makes any sense). You will honestly fly through these books because the writing is so straight-forward (not in a bad way) and the central idea in these books are so great. Like there’s so much drama. I mean there’s a war going on and all I seem to care about it who is going to be with who and obsessing over Magnus Damora. It’s one of those books that aren’t as detailed as other high fantasy books, but it’s so fun binge reading these guys. Immortal Reign is the final book to this series.

Hero at the Fall
Author: Alwyn Hamilton
Release Date: March 6, 2018

Another book that I will drop everything and read. This is the third and final book to the Rebel Sands trilogy, and I am SO PUMPED to read it. You see, the second book, Traitor to the Throne, DID NOT suffer from second book syndrome AT ALL. It completely surpassed the first book, and I have no doubt that this book will do the same. The first book in this trilogy follows our main character Amani who has lived in Dustwalk all her life, and hates it there. She lives with her aunt, uncle and cousins, and when the opportunity arises to escape, she takes it. She meets this guy named Jin, and it’s just a crazy awesome adventure from there. Please read this book. The first book is good, don’t get me wrong, but the SECOND BOOK is fantastic.

Restore Me
Author: Tahereh Mafi
Release Date: March 6, 2018

Do you realize how happy I was when Tahereh announced on her twitter that there will be more Shatter Me books? These book are literally my guilty pleasure. Whenever I feel a semblance of a reading slump forming, I instantly open up Unravel Me or Ignite Me to just see what my favorite people are up to. AND this book is dual point of view. I honestly couldn’t ask for more. If you haven’t read Shatter Me yet, it follows Juliette Ferrars who cannot touch people, because if she does, they die. This series follows Juliette’s journey of self-discovery and independence, and well as learning to deal with this unforgivable ability bestowed upon her.

Inkmistress
Author: Audrey Coulthurst
Release Date: March 6, 2018

Why is March having the BEST releases? This is another book I’m insanely excited for, as it is written by Audrey Coulthurst, author of Of Fire and Stars (which I LOVED). I don’t know anything about this book, other than that it’s a fantasy book, that follows a main character who is a demigod, and who is bisexual. I definitely think there needs to be more LGBTQIA representation in fantasy books who are not just side characters, but MAIN characters, which is why I love Audrey Coulthurst so much.

Obsidio
Authors: Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
Release Date: March 13, 2018

When it suddenly hits you that you still haven’t finished Gemina…
Regardless, I’m still obviously going to read this book because these books are some of my all-time favorites. If you don’t already know, these are science fiction books, told elaborately in documents and files about a planet (?) seeking refuge after their home was destroyed by another planet they are at war with. (I think…SORRY IT’S BEEN AWHILE). They seek refuge on these spaceships, and while on them they realize that the people who destroyed their home, are chasing after them. It’s just so cool. Read this book and you’ll love sci-fi I swear.

Circe
Author: Madeline Miller
Release Date: April 10, 2018

Madeline Miller wrote The Song of Achilles, in which I have written the most unstructured review known to man but it is my FAVORITE book of all time. So when I found out that the author was releasing ANOTHER book with greek mythology, I didn’t even have to read the synopsis, and to be fair, I still don’t want to. Going into The Song of Achilles, I had no clue what to expect, and I want to do the same with this book.

Leah on the Offbeat
Author: Becky Albertalli
Release Date: April 24, 2018

I am so excited for this book because I LOVED Leah’s character in Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda and I related to her so much. When I found out she was getting her own book I was just so ecstatic. Also…I think this is my first contemporary book I included in this list. Just a random side note so you truly understand how excited I am for this one. I believe in this book, it follows Leah’s struggle to find courage to tell her friends that she is bisexual along with her journey to truly become herself.

Ash Princess
Author: Laura Sebastian
Release Date: April 24, 2018

I actually just stumbled upon this book like 5 minutes ago, and the synopsis completely sold me. It follows our main character Theodosia whose kingdom was invaded, and is now living under the abusive rule of King Kaiser. She wants revenge and her plan is to seduce and murder the king’s son, but of course, starts to develop feelings. Yes, I know this sounds like every other book I have on this list but I can’t help it! I live for this trope!

A Court of Frost and Starlight
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Release Date: May 1, 2018

Do I need to explain myself? I mean I’m already way too invested in this series. (still hoping for a book revolving Nesta and Cassian!)

The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy
Author: Mackenzi Lee
Expected Release Date: October 2, 2018

There’s still a long way to go for this one, but it doesn’t quell my excitement at all. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue was such a fun and quirky read, and I have such high hopes for this one, especially since it follows Felicity who was one of my favorite characters in the book. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue followed our main character Monty, older brother to Felicity, and his tour of Europe, with the company of his sister and best friend Percy, who he is secretly in love with. SO ADORABLE. If you have the chance, I highly recommend the audiobook because it was fantastic!

I think I’m going to stop there…only because the book releases past June are a little hazy, so expect another one of these in the near future, so I can include all the books. I hope I was able to introduce you to some new reads, and let me know down in the comments below what book you are anticipating this year!

Thank you so much for reading!
