Books that have been on my TBR FOREVER!

Hello everyone! I thought it would be a fun idea to share with you guys some of the books that have been on my TBR for AGES, in hopes that it will encourage me to pick them up sooner rather than later!

There are probably a whole lot on here that will shock you too 😂  Just as a side note (so you guys don’t hate me too much 😉) I’m definitely a mood reader, so my interests in certain books switch around very quickly! So I’ve probably started some of these, but I won’t force myself to finish reading it if I don’t feel like it!

THE LOST HERO by Rick Riordan 91vcdxkm3dl

I have tried reading this a bajillion times…but I ALWAYS MISS PERCY. I can’t help it, it just feels so weird reading a Rick Riordan book that’s not told by his perspective. I have also heard that not everyone likes this particular book, which I wish would give me the incentive to push through it, but I can’t bring myself to! Maybe I’ll try the audiobook next. 2018 Liebster Award!

Hello everyone! I’m EXTREMELY excited and happy to be nominated for this by the lovely Lili over at Lili’s Blissful Pages! (Check out her blog, she’s honestly amazing). It’s an award that people get nominated for, in which you can check out all the rules over at The Global Aussie!

  1. What’s the worst book you ever read?

Already starting off with the hard one! I don’t necessary complete books that I don’t like from the beginning (my DNF pile IS HUGE), but for a book that I strongly disliked (not sure if it’s the worst just yet) would have to be Caraval by Stephanie Garber.

I know a lot of people who love this book, as well as a handful who hate it. I’m definitely leaning more towards hate, especially because this was a book I was so looking forward to! I read the synopsis and was obsessed with the idea of what the book could be, based on the little snippet given to us. For that, it’s 100% my fault, since I hyped it up WAY too much for myself. But at the same time, I felt like the book could have been executed so much better.

I found every single character in the book to be irritating and I felt that they weren’t engaging enough for me to be interested in the story at all. Also the plot and setting of the book was so confusing for me to read, since everything was supposed to be a mystery in the novel. It just wasn’t a good read for me at all.

7 Deadly Sins Book Tag!

Hello! I’ve been tagged by the amazing Marianna over at Marianna’s Corner to do the 7 Deadly Sins book tag! Definitely check out her blog, her posts are always so great!

I’m super excited to do this especially because I love all the questions related to this tag!

GREED
What is the most expensive book you own? What is the least expensive book you own?

The most expensive book I own is probably either one of the illustrated editions of the first two Harry Potter books! Those guys are expensive, but I needed them for my ever-expanding collection of Harry Potter.

The least expensive book I own is definitely The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon because I found it at Indigo for only $3 and I was honestly shook.

GLUTTONY
What book or books have you shamelessly devoured many times?

Definitely all the Harry Potter books. But more recently, A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas! I mean, we probably all understand why. It’s just such an addicting book.

WWW Wednesday – February 7, 2018

Ooooh back with another WWW Wednesday! I didn’t participate for the past two weeks because I was still reading/listening to the same books, but this week I have a brand new list!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words.

The Three W’s are:
-What are you currently reading?
-What did you recently finish reading?
-What do you think you’ll read next?

Down the TBR Hole #2

Hello everyone! Since I had such a blast making the last down the tbr hole last week, I decided to do it again! I love how this is slowly shortening my to be read list!

In case you didn’t know, Down the TBR Hole is a meme created by Lost In a Story that allows us to cleanse our TBR piles from the books we probably won’t get to.

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

This is one of those books that I’m ALWAYS on the edge about. I never know if I want to read it or not, but I hear such good things about Victoria’s books. I think I might get to the Darker Shade of Magic series before I get to this one (only because I own those books!) but this one will still stay on my tbr pile. I just need motivation to get to it!

In the Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken16150831

So if you read my last down the tbr hole post…you may know that I have a tendency to NEVER complete series’. It’s mainly because I never want to part with the world and the characters! But by the time I want to actually read it, I can barely tell you half the peoples names. And I hate myself for not completing this trilogy because I LOVED the first two books SO much. Like they were instant 5 star ratings. I do have hope that someday I’ll read this last book because I need that type of reassurance in my life. This one is staying…even though I’m a little iffy.

Down the TBR Hole

Hello everyone! This is another bookish feature that I see everywhere, and I’m finally deciding to do it because it looks so fun and helpful!

Down the TBR Hole is a bookish meme created by Lost In a Story that allows us to cleanse our TBR piles from the books we probably won’t get to.

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.

Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick

The Hush, Hush books are the series that got me completely reeled into reading. I remember reading and LOVING these books in middle school, and it’s what got me introduced to the young adult genre. After completing the first 3 books, I never picked up the last book for some reason? And it’s been about 5/6 years…so even though this series holds a special place in my heart…I think it has to go.

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson

18189606

I remember this being one of the most talked about books in the booktube community, hence being the reason I bought it. I’m pretty sure I bought this book in August, but had no time to read it during the summer, so I postponed it to next summer and so on and so on. It’s one of those books that I ingrained in my head that I had to read during the summer, so I guess it’s my own fault I still haven’t got to it. (Plus, I don’t feel the same excitement to read it as I had before). REMOVE.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

I honestly feel like I’m the only person in the entire universe who still hasn’t read this book! (Please tell me I’m wrong!) The whole premise of this book is still so interesting to me, and they’re also making a movie for it! So this one is going to have to STAY.

The Last Star by Rick Yancey

51cc2bo3cfql-_sx329_bo1204203200_

What is with me in not finishing series? After kinda sorta finishing the Hush, Hush series, the next big series that truly held a place in my heart was The 5th Wave books by Rick Yancey. I was OBSESSED with these books back in 2013—they were literally all I talked about, and even til this date, I still love the first book. The reason I haven’t picked up the third and final book is because I don’t entirely remember what happened in this series. I remember everything being so fresh in my brain before the movie came out, but they pushed the release date even further for the book, and because of that I forgot about the series. Anyways this one is…STAYING.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

51lk1ngak6l-_sx317_bo1204203200_

Oh my gosh I’m so ashamed of myself. I can’t believe I still haven’t read this book. To be honest, I completely forgot about it since it’s on like page 4 of my to be read list…but now I’m going to make it a priority read for the new year! STAYING.

Let me know in the comments below if you agree with the choices I made, and what books you’ve recently taken out of your TBRs!

Thanks for reading!

WWW Wednesday – January 17, 2018

I’m super excited to finally do this! This is my first time participating in WWW Wednesday, which is a weekly meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words.

The Three W’s are:
-What are you currently reading?
-What did you recently finish reading?
-What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

 1408855712   25733990   32320661

I’m currently reading 3 books, (why do I do this to myself 😂) & I’m loving all of them!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a reread for me. I was trying to finish all 7 books in 2017, but since I didn’t complete that goal, the last book was carried on into the new year.
Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel is an audiobook I’m listening to, AND I LOVE IT so much! I was not expecting it to be this good, so I’m really happy about that.
And finally Everless by Sara Holland, a book that I’m about halfway through, and will probably complete within the next two days!
