Best Books of 2018! (seriously the best ever!)

Happy new year! I know you will be seeing a bunch of these posts in the next few weeks/days, but we gotta seize the opportunity! I mean all of us will be introduced to awesome books as well as being able to discuss our common favorites! I love reading these types of posts so much, my TBR list keeps getting longer!

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

25883848

This is definitely in my top favorites of the year, I cannot get over how much I love this book! From beginning to end I couldn’t stop gushing over these two characters and how much I love both of them. It’s the perfect cutesy romance book and probably one of my favorite enemies to lovers book!

Books on my Christmas Wishlist!

Hello everyone! So sorry for being inactive, studying for finals has been the death of me! But now that I’m finally done, I thought I would make a fun post about the books that are on my Christmas wishlist this year!

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

515oqAH-RTL

This has been on my TBR for so long and it’s one of those books that I know I’m going to fall in love with. Not only am I consistently seeing rave reviews for this one, it also just sounds so good? And I also feel like my favorite books of all time always end up being standalone novels, so I hope this will live up to that!

The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee

35430702

After reading, (and absolutely loving The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue) I immediately added the sequel to my TBR, and I can’t believe I still haven’t gotten around to it! Felicity was such an amazing character to read about, and I hope that her book won’t disappoint!

Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie Dao

913P2CmF3gL

I’ve seen this book around a bit and I only just recently decided to add it to my TBR ever since I found out it’s a retelling of The Evil Queen! That’s really all I know about this book and I want to keep it that way, in the hopes that I will be pleasantly surprised!

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

71qzuvewy9l

I can’t believe I still haven’t read this book yet! I already watched the movie (IT WAS AMAZING!) and I want to know what happens in the sequel without having to wait another year for the next movie! Plus I think this book could be a perfect gift for anyone since the story is so great!

Most of the other books I’m looking forward to aren’t out yet, like The Wicked King and Kingdom of Copper, but these are the books I’m quite interested in now!

Let me know the books that are on your Christmas wishlist!

Thanks for reading!

T5W: Books I Want to Read Before 2019!

Hello everyone! Top 5 Wednesday is a Goodreads group with weekly memes which you can view here! The topic for this Wednesday is: Books You Want to Read Before 2019!

QUEEN OF AIR AND DARKNESS BY CASSANDRA CLARE

1442468432

I can say with full certainty that I will definitely be reading this book before the year ends! The first reason being that I’m so excited to see how this trilogy will end, and the second because I know there will be a crazy amount of spoilers everywhere! I’m almost done Lord of Shadows (about 65 pages left, and things are getting really intense!)

November TBR [2018]

Hello everyone! *hides in shame.*

I guess I underestimated how much Uni would take over my life the past couple of weeks, but midterms are FINALLY over so I’m back!

I actually did manage to read some books in October, but I think I’ll do like a fall wrap-up sometime soon, instead of making monthly ones!

Also, I’m going to have to devote quite some time later today to catch up on all my fellow bloggers posts!

LORD OF SHADOWS BY CASSANDRA CLARE

Yes! I did manage to finish Lady Midnight last month (spoiler alert: I loved it). So of course I’m going to dive straight into the sequel to try to finish it before QOOAAD comes out.

GHOSTS OF THE SHADOW MARKET BY CASSANDRA CLARE

To be fully caught up for the release of QOOAAD, I have 8 more novellas to read. Hopefully I can do it? I’m 75% sure I can only read these after Lord of Shadows for spoiler reasons, but that’s like another 800 page book since each short story is 100 pages long….💀

99 PERCENT MINE BY SALLY THORNE

I might have screamed really loudly when I got approved for an eARC for Sally Thorne’s latest release—the author who wrote the best NA book of all time, The Hating Game. It sounds SO CUTE and I know that I will be in love with it just as much as I am with THG.

So this probably looks like the shortest TBR pile ever, but I promise there’s like 10 books on here because of all Cassie Clare short stories. I HAVE FAITH IN MYSELF TO FINISH HER BOOKS!

Thanks for being patient with my absences!

Spooky Halloween Reads! 👻

Believe it or not, Halloween isn’t my favorite time of the year (Christmas steals the deal on that one) but that’s mainly because I’m the biggest scaredy cat there is. I don’t think I’ve ever actually completed one horror movie because I get too freaked out. (The closest one was Paranormal Activity, but I just got too bored to finish it 😆).

Butttt that doesn’t mean I don’t get caught up on all the fun festivities it brings. I love seeing all the decorated houses on my street as well as hanging out with my friends on the night of Halloween.

So, in my attempt to contribute to the Halloween spirit as much as I can, what better way than to share some books that are pretty suitable to read this month? The ones I have listed aren’t all scary (at all), but they have a dark factor to them that makes up for the ‘conventional scary’ (if that makes any sense….)

October TBR! [2018]

Hello everyone! I know it’s been a while since my last post….not even going to lie, I feel like I forgot how to write these! But over the past few weeks, I’ve really had to prioritize school over all my other hobbies since it was starting to get insanely stressful!

But I’m back for now, thankfully things have calmed down a bit so I’ll definitely be pre-writing some posts in my drafts in case this happens again!

Unfortunately I barely got a chance to read in September….school really sucks, but I’m hoping to squeeze a few during the Thanksgiving break!

Now onto the TBR!

MY FAVORITE HALF-NIGHT STAND BY CHRISTINA LAUREN
38357345

Fun fact, the only book that I did manage to read in September was written by Christina Lauren, which was Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating! It was such a cute and adorable read that I kinda fell down a spree of adding every Christina Lauren book to my shopping cart…and I somehow managed to get an e-arc of one of her upcoming books! From the snippets I’ve read so far, two words…ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. Continue reading “October TBR! [2018]”

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

Spoiler-free!

Title: City of Heavenly Fire
Author: Cassandra Clare
My Rating: 4 stars! ⭐️
Description:
In this dazzling and long-awaited conclusion to the acclaimed Mortal Instruments series, Clary and her friends fight the greatest evil they have ever faced: Clary’s own brother.

My Review:
I think I need a HUGE round of applause for this one because W O W I finally did it. After years, (literally YEARS) of dragging out this series and saying that I’ll get to it later, I finally finished it.

Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren

Spoiler-free!
josh-and-hazels-guide-to-not-dating-9781501165856_hr

Title: Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating
Author: Christina Lauren
My Rating: 4.25 stars! ⭐️
Description:
Hazel Camille Bradford knows she’s a lot to take—and frankly, most men aren’t up to the challenge. If her army of pets and thrill for the absurd don’t send them running, her lack of filter means she’ll say exactly the wrong thing in a delicate moment. Their loss. She’s a good soul in search of honest fun.
Josh Im has known Hazel since college, where her zany playfulness proved completely incompatible with his mellow restraint. From the first night they met—when she gracelessly threw up on his shoes—to when she sent him an unintelligible email while in a post-surgical haze, Josh has always thought of Hazel more as a spectacle than a peer. But now, ten years later, after a cheating girlfriend has turned his life upside down, going out with Hazel is a breath of fresh air.
Not that Josh and Hazel date. At least, not each other. Because setting each other up on progressively terrible double blind dates means there’s nothing between them…right?

September TBR! [2018]

Hello everyone! Not even going to lie, I thought I had already written and posted this…when I actually hadn’t? My mind is all caught up with stress over school so bare with me, even though this post is a little late!

As always, I’ll be sharing the books that I’m planning to read in September! The first three books on this list are absolute musts!

TALES FROM THE SHADOWHUNTER ACADEMY by Cassandra Clare
811x6vyf64l

Believe it or not, I’m pleased to say that I’m almost finished this one! I picked it up immediately after that ending of COHF, and I can proudly say I am not disappointed! (I think I may even be enjoying it even more than City of Heavenly Fire…)
