Hello everyone! I’m so excited to be doing another wrap-up, especially since it’s been quite a few months since I last did one! This time will be a bit different–I’ll be including some of the TV shows and movies I’ve watched this month as well!
The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco [REVIEW]
★★★.5 stars
An overall enjoyable book! I did have a few problems with all the info-dumps as well as my difficulty to follow some aspects of the story, but plot was interesting enough for me to still be invested in the story! Looking forward to the sequel!
The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty [REVIEW]
★★★★★ stars!
By far my favorite read of the month…and it’s one of my top favorites of the year! I loved everything about this book, from the beautifully written world to the intensely complex mythology. I had the best time learning about these characters and the crazy complicated situations they were facing. I cannot stop recommending this book!
To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
★★★.5 stars
I admit, I hyped this one up a little too much for myself, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless! I’m still unsure about my rating, I don’t know if I should lower it or bump it higher, but hopefully I’ll have all my coherent thoughts for my review! It took me a good chunk of time to become invested in the world and the authors different writing style, but I really enjoyed the last half of the book!
Set it Up ★★★★★
Guys I absolutely loved this movie! It’s the best kind of rom-com, funny, romantic and it has a really interesting storyline! It’s definitely a movie I’ll be rewatching in the future!
Thor: Ragnarok ★★★★★
A rewatch…but I can’t get over how amazing this movie is! I’m so happy that they added it on Netflix so I can constantly rewatch it. 😂But yes, Thor’s character has definitely moved up to my top 3 from just these past two movies! I love his dry humor and how sweet he is!
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ★★★★
I also rewatched the first one before heading to the theatre to watch the sequel, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this one! I had really low expectations since the trailer wasn’t my favorite, but I had a huge range of emotions while watching this one, from laughing to almost crying at one particular scene! Can’t wait to see what happens next!
Ant-Man and the Wasp ★★★★
Another movie I was surprised by! The first Ant Man movie wasn’t my favorite, I enjoyed it enough to push aside my thoughts on it being repetitive, but this one was great! There were so many moments where I honestly could not stop laughing! It was hilarious! Plus that ending….Avengers 4 can’t come sooner!
Those are all the books/movies I enjoyed this month…well the majority of them! I hope you liked my new format for these types of posts, I thought my old one looked a bit messy and I wanted to re-vamp it a bit!
Let me know what your favorite books/movies of July! I’d love some more movie recommendations! 🙏🏻❤️

I’ll be waiting for your review of To Kill a Kingdom, I’ll be reading that probably soon but I’ll try to lower my expectations, I think it’s something I have to work in general lol

Same here! I always hype up books for myself and it’s rare when I’m not disappointed…😂

I felt the same way about The Bone Witch – too many infodumps and the writing didn’t flow as well as it could have, but it was worth it (I haven’t read the sequel yet because slow books are intimidating but I mean to). I have yet to read To Kill a Kingdom and I don’t really know what to expect, I’ve seen a few mixed reviews lately.
And I’m always glad to see The City of Brass get some love!

Fabulous wrap-up Ashley! I’m so glad you loved City of Brass, and that Bone Witch and TKAK were entertaining enough because I really want to check these out. And haha yes, Thor Ragnorak is pretty hilarious! My mom loved it, and I think that movie made her an MCU fan. 😉 Oh, and I’m happy to hear Ant-man was great! I actually loved the first movie, so I’m hugely anticipating watching the sequel! 😁

I love Thor Ragnorak! I quite enjoyed Jurassic World 2 and I can’t wait to see where the third movie takes the story. Ant-Man and the Wasp was so good yes! I loved the antagonist too.
